Cheekpieces now tried for the first-time as he comes here searching for his form and could probably do with a return to 6f (form at 7f reads; 404439). Not disgraced in any of his recent starts but hasn't really got involved and passed over here.

Pace or lack of it may well be an issue here and it won’t be a surprise to see Race Day being allowed to go forward and use what now looks to be a lenient mark. He’s not quite shown he’s back to his best yet but he should be fitter for his two runs so far and remains a danger to MAGICAL EFFECT who may finally get a race fall his way. He’s a rare runner here for Ruth Carr but the small field should suit in terms of him not getting into trouble and deserved win looks a possibility. Frank Bridge is starting to look back to his best and will be a tough nut to crack with Insurgence and Parnassian both having something to prove, the former on the surface and the latter over this trip.
