Ex-Irish racer (Joseph O'Brien); bought for 21,000gns in February, and didn't take long to repay the investment when winning over C&D (good to firm) three months later; 2lb higher and beaten in stronger races since, but a major player in this race.
Made all in a 1m1f course novice event in June (stablemate Good Boy Alfie third - winner since); no match for a 1/7f poke over this trip latest, but respected on handicap debut.
Likes it at this track, and this is a big drop in grade compared with the Class 3 handicap that he tackled latest (fifth of six); work to do with Remember The Days on C&D form from May (despite 5lb better terms); stablemate of Glasses Up.
Dropping in the weights, this four-time course winner stays this trip (three-time C&D scorer), but many of his more recent wins have come over 1m on Tapeta at Newcastle; twice placed here lately, including behind Glasses Up.
Cost just £2,000 in January 2018; unbeaten in two starts over this C&D, comfortably accounting for Testa Rossa and four others on handicap debut latest; up 4lb, but folly to ignore his claims; stablemate of Gworm.
Juvenile AW winner for Ann Duffield (7f), but modest efforts on all three starts for this trainer, so requires much more despite falling 8lb in the handicap since April.

Forecasts
Universal Gleam (6/4), Glasses Up (11/4), Falmouth Light (3/1), Remember The Days (5/1), Gworn (6/1), Testa Rossa (9/1), I'm Yer Man (33/1)
A tight contest is in store with a number of these runners still relatively new horses for their current handlers. Iain Jardine and Jedd O'Keeffe soon got to work with their respective purchases with both Falmouth Light and REMEMBER THE DAYS winning quickly in their care. The former is likely to be suited by further rainfall, while the latter (and selection) should have the measure of Gworm despite a 5lb turnaround at the weights for 2½L. Others with realistic chances include Glasses Up and Universal Gleam.
- Remember The Days
- Glasses Up
- Falmouth Light
