Has been unable to add to his Lingfield maiden win (1m3½f, soft) from a year ago. Has run some good races in defeat both over hurdles and on the Flat. Went close at Nottingham (1m6f, soft) in May, but held over 1m4f latest and fast ground a concern.
Equalled his career-best when scoring at Catterick (2m, good to firm) last time, staying on well to nick it close to home. Has not been good enough to win from this mark previously, so will need to raise his game again to follow up.
Stays 2m. Back in good form this season with wins at Wetherby (1m6f) and Hamilton (1m5f), the latter coming last time out. 3lb higher today, but conditions suit and he could take some beating.
Another who has won twice this year, most recently when stepped up to this trip in first-time cheekpieces at Nottingham (good to firm). Up 5lb for that, so will need some improvement, but enters calculations. Visor (has won in it) back on today.
Was last seen winning a 2m novices' hurdle at Ludlow in May. 2-11 on the Flat. Encouraging that best effort was over C&D last August, when 5lb higher. Interesting, now that he is back in form and switched back to this code.
0-17 across both codes, with nine of those runs being on the Flat. Would have a chance from this mark based on his 2016 form, but latest effort at Chester did not hint that he would be breaking his duck soon.
Forecasts
Paddy A (5/2), Thistimenextyear (5/2), Ingleby Hollow (4/1), Takbeer (9/2), Airton (5/1), Magnum (33/1)
INGLEBY HOLLOW has rediscovered the winning thread just lately and is taken to record a third success of the season, with conditions and trip just about his optimum. Paddy A has to be feared in opposition, along with Airton, while Takbeer is also of interest from this mark now that is back in better form.
