Not seen since being pulled-up at Wincanton in October and now returns on the back of win surgery. Looked an improved individual for going chasing having won at Newton Abbot (runner-up twice); all best form left-handed.
Last win came over hurdles off an 8lb higher mark so she should be capable off this mark but she has disappointed twice recently over fences. Did run well over the larger obstacles on her debut for this yard but has something to prove now.
Not seen over fences since winning over them at Down Royal (2m4f) in heavy conditions; appeared to enjoy the trip. Last two starts have come over hurdles (poor last time) and remains to be seen now he copes with this mark and trip back chasing.
Doesn't appear to have taken to fences at all falling on debut over them and making plenty of mistakes the second time he tried them. Did no better returned to hurdles last time and hard to recommend for this.
Multiple point-to-point winner who was well treated and supported when winning over C&D recently by 9L. Went with real zest that day (jumped well) from the front in first-time cheekpieces; still well handicapped off a mark 7lb higher.
Ran better on her second start for this stable here over a shorter trip having been given plenty to do and to a certain extent picked up the pieces. Not the most consistent of sorts so there is a question mark about her backing that up over further.
A win at Musselburgh in March showed what this prolific winner in point-to-points can do under Rules and he's twice run well off that back of that win at Hexham off higher marks. Looks in good form and should run his race in this company.
Not seen under Rules since 2013 when she was with David Pipe and has been running in point-to-points since then without any particular success. Beaten 24L on her most recent start in that sphere; riding arrangements take the eye, not a market move.
The first-time tongue-tie appeared to be the key to him leaving behind his previous chasing form at Newton Abbot last time (trip also helping). Not certain to be in the same form and wouldn't want any rain off 7lb higher.
His last three starts have been in contests a fair bit tougher than this but he's not really shown that much. At least he runs from in the handicap here but others present a far more solid case.
Has finished runner-up in a weak point-to-point but his chasing form under Rules reads P7F and with more letters than numbers in the form figures he's easily bypassed here. Tried over hurdles last time to no avail.
Irish point-to-point winner who has shown some ability of hurdles and been placed the last thrice over fences. Didn't look particularly well suited to this track last time over a shorter trip and not the most fluent jumper either.
Finally got off the mark over fences on his penultimate start (8th attempt) at Market Rasen in a weak handicap off 3lb lower. Ran surprisingly well in a stronger race although the same pay grade last time but found the mark too much.
Never won over fences but is well handicapped on his hurdles form having won in that sphere off a mark of 90. Last couple of runs haven't shown much gusto though and he's probably best watched on this occasion.
Been through a few yards and looking more and more held back by his attitude running in snatches last time. Not really one to be interested in.
Forecasts
Damiens Dilemma (10/3), Grow Nasa Grow (9/2), Eager To Know (5/1), Presenting Berkley (7/1), Chantara Rose (8/1), Dun Faw Good (9/1), Miss Biscotti (14/1), Benarty Hill (18/1), Strong Resemblance (20/1), Oriental Fixer (20/1), Shaiyzar (28/1), Milans Well (28/1), Hard Knocks (33/1), Ladyvie (33/1), Tommy O'dwyer (33/1)
Irish trainers have won three of the last six runnings of this event but they only have won representative this year with Benarty Hill who comes here on the back of two poor hurdles runs but may be worth noting in the market. This is a big field for this track and the best place to be may be out in front and that’s where C&D winner DAMIENS DILEMMA is likely to be after his win here last time and he remains with handicapping scope. Dun Faw Good must also come into the picture as he’s running well of late with Presenting Berkley another to take a look at although he’s not been the most consistent in the past. Both Grow Nasa Grow and Oriental Fixer would have a squeak also.
- Damiens Dilemma
- Dun Faw Good
- Benarty Hill
