Won a pair of handicaps over 1¼m last August, including here, and gelded prior to his return at Chelmsford last month where he shaped as if better for the run. Promises to improve for this increased test of stamina, and leading claims.
Best effort in 2018 when fourth over 1m5f at Ayr last month, and not disgraced when 7¼L seventh of 16 to Rainbow Rebel in Old Newton Cup at Haydock last time. Can't be ruled out having eased slightly in the weights.
In frame on three of four starts for current yard this year, although had the run of things when close third of 11 to Vis A Vis at Sandown (1¾m) last time, and bit more needed to win from current mark.
Overcame a pace bias to win at Carlisle (1m3f) in June, and forgiven next run at Royal Ascot. Creditable 1¼L third of 5 to Midnight Wilde at Chester last time, and will be competitive if building on that as expected.
Dual AW winner this term, and ran well in defeat at Chelmsford last time, but must prove conclusively that he's as effective on turf having finished well held at Goodwood in May.

Nathan sets the standard and ought to build on a promising return having been gelded, but it's doubtful whether we have seen the best of LUCKY DEAL so far, and he is taken to progress past his rivals having shaped well at Chester on Saturday. Koeman wasn't disgraced in a stronger race a fortnight ago, and can also make his presence felt.
