Five time winner on the Flat and ran well over an extended 1m in that sphere last month. Well held twice since however and probably best watched now switched to hurdles.

Victorious over an extended 1m3f at Yarmouth (good-to-firm) last August. Promising second on soft ground at Chepstow (1m4f) on debut for this yard in May but disappointed upped in trip subsequently. Worth a check in the market on hurdling debut.

Dual Flat winner but not fared as well over hurdles and pulled up on his final start for previous yard at Kempton (2m, good) in April. Others make more appeal.

Weightfordave (5/4), Competition (2/1), Big Time Dancer (5/1), Astute Boy (7/1), Ray's The Money (20/1), Captain Revelation (100/1), Gamboling Gigi (100/1)

Verdict

A competitive looking novice hurdle with the three penalised runners capable of dominating the finish. Preference is for WEIGHTFORDAVE who justified odds-on favouritism in similar conditions at Worcester last time out and he can see off Competition who represents a shrewd stable following a C&D success earlier this month. Big TIme Dancer made a winning return to hurdles last month and can claim third.
