Improved with each start over hurdles and did well to finish third of 12 at Newton Abbott last month. Further progress is possible and place claims again.

20/1
Signs of ability on all three starts in bumpers to date. Makes hurdles debut and needs to show a bit of improvement for jumping to make an impact in here.

Green Or Blackt21
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  111
9/4
Shown bits and pieces of form including in a handicap last time when going very close. Jumping can often let her down which is a worry but sound claims with a clear round back in a maiden.
Bollin Terry mare who was beaten a very long way on here sole start in a point-to-point. Had wind surgery prior to this rules debut but probably best watched today.
Didn't win in points and was purchsed cheaply by connections for just £2,500 prior to her rules debut where she was soundly beaten. Others preferred once again in here.

Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: Wayne Hutchinson| T: A King| OR:  119| BF
4/5
Has developed a habit of going close without winning. She clearly has the best form on offer in this contest and connections will be disappointed if she can't win here.
7

33/1
Bits of promise in a couple of bumper starts. Hurdles debut was underwhelming though and would need to step up on that markedly to be involved here.
8
Horse silk
200/1
Beaten a very long way in two bumpers and a novice hurdle. Makes return today after 19 months off and impossible to fancy.

two efforts in bumpers leave plenty of room needed for improvement to be competitive on hurdles debut. Hood added to the tongue-tie here. Market will be a good guide

20/1
Fell on hurdling debut before finishing quite weakly over C&D two weeks ago. Represents leading stable but chance she could be a handicap project on the back of this now.

Horse silk

Shown nothing in two bumpers for which she started at big odds on both occasion. Switched to hurdles appears unlikely to change her fortunes.

Valjan59
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-10| J: Thomas Garner(3)| T: O SherwoodWS
25/1
Shirocco half-sister to five winners, including Champion Hurdle winner Katchit. Beaten 24L on bumper debut and has had a wind operation since. Makes hurdles debut and has room for improvement.

Forecasts

Passing Call (4/5), Green Or Black (9/4), Admiral's Sunset (9/2), Far Cry (20/1), Conistone (20/1), Valjan (25/1), Port Royale (33/1), Sheila Tanist (40/1), Morehurrylesshaste (66/1), Fearnie Lou (100/1), Haventthefroggiest (150/1), Right Royals Day (200/1)

Verdict

It is hard to oppose PASSING CALL despite her tendency to run well without winning. She has the best form in the book and today should be the day. Green Or Black has the ability to go close if her jumping holds up. Any money for Valjan would be interesting on hurdles debut and should be noted.
