Has lost her way since finishing second on last year's return to action, and blinkers now tried after a poor effort at Chepstow last month.
Placed over 7f at two but has failed to trouble the judge since and stopped quickly after cutting out the running at Kempton last time. Plenty to prove.
Typical of stable's handicappers in that he showed little over 5f/6f in qualifying, but has improved for switch to handicaps, and good second at Wolverhampton (7f) last week. Longer trip and change of headgear should help here, and leading claims.
Stronger handling saw him break his duck in a C&D handicap in March, and good second at Brighton on penultimate outing. Ran poorly last time, but perhaps wasn't right, and no surprise if he bounced back.
Stepped up markedly on earlier efforts when winning 11-runner handicap over 1m here last time by a nose from Global Wonder. Stayed on well to get up on the line that day, and longer trip will suit on pedigree.
Best form has come on soft turf, and back in the groove when second at Doncaster in April. Cheekpieces left off on first start since leaving Richard Fahey.
Best effort to date when seventh of 13 in a 1¼m maiden at Kempton on debut. May do better now handicapping at that trip, but opening mark looks stiff.
No impact for John Holt last year, and off the track for more than 14 months, so has plenty to prove on first outing for current yard, for all he's very well treated on juvenile form. Hooded now.
Still a maiden after 22 starts, and operating below her modest best this year. Cheekpieces on after failing to beat a rival at Leicester on most recent outing.
Forecasts
Plentyinthetanksir (5/4), True North (6/4), Lifeboat (10/1), Normandy Blue (12/1), Overtrumped (12/1), Tilsworth Lukey (16/1), Dora's Field (28/1), Ronni Layne (50/1), Clon Rocket (50/1)
TRUE NORTH has shown improved form in a couple of 7f handicaps of late, and this marked step up in trip should suit him, so he gets a narrow vote over Plentyinthetanksir, a winner over 1m here last time who is also bred for further. That pair stand out from the rest, although Tilsworth Lukey is a C&D winner who would have claims if a poor recent effort on turf could be forgiven.
- True North
- Plentyinthetanksir
- Tilsworth Lukey
