Out of form in a pair of efforts at Dundalk earlier in the year and has just one win from 46 starts to his name on turf after finishing last of four at Tipperary (1m1f, good to firm) 17 days ago off a break.
Progressive sort who won twice at Dundalk over the winter, going the right way in two turf runs this season, finishing good fourth of 13 in handicap at the Curragh (1m, good to firm) in May. Should be competitive in this off 3lb lower.
Record is 3-18 so far, tends to run consistently and warming to task this year, going close in three most recent of five starts. Close second at the Curragh (1m, good to firm) a fortnight ago in better race, big player here.
Winner in native France, but failed to catch fire in two runs here, finishing long way behind over a mile at the Curragh in May, can only be watched for now.
His better recent efforts have come on AW and his better turf form has come with cut in the ground. Finished ninth of 13 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to firm) a fortnight ago.
Returned from nearly three years off the track at Gowran last month and shaped like he needed the run. No better since at the Curragh (1m, good to firm) and hard to fashion confidence for now.
Just the one win since 2015 and that came on soft ground. Can give his chance away at the start but encouraging start for this yard when good third of 13 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to firm), nearest finish. Interesting now.
About 1L behind runner-up Tony The Gent in finishing fourth in decent Curragh handicap (1m, good to firm) on first of the month, since run well at Leopardstown over same trip, should go well again.
English import who won two of his 15 races for Richard Hannon, sixth of nine in handicap at Cork (6½f, good) four days ago. Entitled to be fitter, both wins have been over 7f.
Forecasts
Tony The Gent (2/1), Katiymann (10/3), Atlas (4/1), Georgian Bay (13/2), Beach Bar (8/1), Tresorier (16/1), Convergence (16/1), Elleval (25/1), Procurator (33/1)
Tony The Gent was a close second at the Curragh last time in a better race and demands plenty respect here as a result, while that form also bring Atlas (1L behind in fourth) into the reckoning. Georgian Bay made a positive start for Adrian McGuinness last time and could have a big run in him but KATIYMANN ran well in a strong Curragh handicap in May and has been eased 3lb since, ensuring he looks likely to have a big say in this.
- Katiymann
- Tony The Gent
- Georgian Bay
