Ran the well-handicapped Zylan to a neck before registering wins over C&D and at Musselburgh (7f). Stable took this two years ago with another in-form veteran.
Winner at Thirsk on last year's seasonal bow but bitterly disappointing since. Starts the season on an attractive mark if the freshness factor works again.
Rated 101 at his peak but now two years since his last win and he has never threatened a challenge in any of his four starts this term.
Goes well here and would ideally want some rain. Signs recently he was finding his form and this further drop in the weights might be enough.
Hit a purple patch in July/August 2017, winning three races between 5f and 6f, but climbed the weights as a result. Down below his last winning mark but in need of the cheekpieces to have a positive result. Yard 5-15 in past two weeks.
Transformed by cheekpieces to dead-heat with Mr Wagyu (won since) over C&D. The third has also franked the form and things did not go smoothly at Pontefract last time.
