Although he's won on firm ground in Guernsey, softer conditions bring out the best in this quirky sort. Still 4lb above May's course victory despite finishing last on his two most recent starts.

Scored over a mile in May but she was too keen on her next two outings and the drop to this trip produced a big run in a Newmarket class 3. Denied a clear run that day and this looks easier.

C&D winner who was third in this 12 months ago. Not far below his best last time and the stands rail was the place to be last week.

Only win came in a Wolverhampton seller and he has been off four months since. Well beaten on two previous turf starts.

Veteran whose last seven wins have come at Lingfield or in Jersey. His experience compensates for that lacking in his rider, but a few of these may be sharper.

It took her 22 races to open her account in a modest looking race at Yarmouth. Went close there again last time and looks set for another bold bid from the front.

Forecasts

Isstoora (7/4), Gold Hunter (3/1), Trotter (7/2), Mother of Dragons (6/1), Satchville Flyer (8/1), Swiss Cross (14/1)

Verdict

Gold Hunter goes well here and appeared to be approaching his peak last time. On this occasion ISSTOORA is preferred as the drop to 6f seemed a positive move at Newmarket and with a clear run she would have been a lot closer in a stronger race than this. Mother Of Dragons makes most appeal of the rest.
  1. Isstoora
  2. Gold Hunter
  3. Mother of Dragons
