Has nine lengths to find with Newton Geronimo on recent running and it won't be easy. Well handicapped though on best of old form but hasn't found wining easy over the last few years.

Won three of first four starts this year and went up 21lb in process. Fell at last when in lead at Wincanton in April and better for recent run over timber at Newton Abbot. Looks one for the shortlist.

Won in soft ground at Fontwell in March and returns after trhee--month break. Yard going through a quiet spell and would ideally prefer more give underfoot.

Won twice a couple of seasons ago but hasn't shown very much since returning from seven-month break. Eased 3lb and represents top yard at this track so worth checking for market confidence.

Forecast

Voix D'Eau (5/2), Newton Geronimo (11/4), I'dliketheoption (4/1), The Last But One (9/2), The Fresh Prince (5/1), Roman Flight (10/1), Master Burbidge (20/1)

Verdict

NEWTON GERONIMO is in good heart and can follow up his recent C&D win despite a 6lb rise in the wieghts with his yard in cracking form at present. Plumpton winner The Fresh Prince, Paul Nicholls' The Last But One, and I'dliketheoption, whose yard does very well at this venue, are all potential dangers. If he turns out again quickly, Roman Flight would be worthy of consideration as well, and a better effort from Voix D'Eau is not out of the question either.
  1. Newton Geronimo
  2. The Last But One
  3. The Fresh Prince
