Winner of this race off this mark last year and improving with racing since returning from a break. Ran well to finish runner-up over an extended 3m1f at Cartmel (good) in May. Interesting runner once more.
Winner of five of his eight hurdles starts and chasing a hat-trick having won his last two. Latest success came over 3m at Southwell (good) and he is a leading contender despite a 3lb rise in the weights.
Held in recent starts including over this trip at Worcester (good) last time out. Handicap mark is falling and races off a mark 5lb lower than for his most recent success.
Won his last two starts over hurdles including by 12L at Perth (3m, good) last time out. Raised 16lb for that victory and likely to find life tougher upped in grade.
Narrowly beaten in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Worcester (good) last time out. Races off a 1lb higher mark here and is one to note with the step up in distance likely to suit.
Finished runner-up on each of his four starts since winning at Bangor (good) last August. Stepping up in trip when beaten ½L by Brave Eagle last time out and he remains of interest.
Followed up a Huntingdon (3m1f, good) handicap hurdle win by finishing third at Stratford (good) in May. Vulnerable to improving rivals.
Dual hurdles winner but held at Aintree (2m4f, good) last month on first start since wind surgery. Step up in trip is in his favour.
Forecasts
Brave Eagle (9/4), Psychedelic Rock (11/4), Wynford (7/2), Jack Devine (7/1), The Tourard Man (11/1), Fingerontheswitch (14/1), Lough Salt (22/1), Knight Of Noir (25/1)
BRAVE EAGLE looks an improving type and he can complete his hat-trick by taking what looks a competitive staying handicap hurdle. The selection appeared to appreciate the step up in distance last time and can get the better of Psychadelic Rock who wasn't beaten far over shorter last time and shapes as if this step up in distance will suit while Wynford, runner-up to the selection on his most recent start can finish third ahead of last years winner The Tourard Man
- Brave Eagle
- Psychedelic Rock
- Wynford
