Ran above expectations early last month when finishing fourth of 11 beaten 3½L in a Tramore maiden hurdle over 2m. Kept on well on last start and step up in trip may assist.

Well held in two starts this season despite the finishing positions on each occasion. Could be of interest stepping up in trip.

Beaten favourite last time out in a Downpatrick beginners chase over 3m finishing fourth of 11 on stable debut. Interesting the trainer switches to a maiden hurdle here. One for the shortlist.

Improved above expectations when second of 14 beaten ½L in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle on good ground last month. Worth noting in the betting following that display.

Plenty of promise in the gelding last two starts in June at Down Royal and here over 2m finishing second of 14. Entitled to make the shortlist stepping up in trip.

Well held in two bumpers before a dismal maiden hurdle here last month over 2m½f beaten 27L. Hard to place any faith in.

Beaten a very long way in two bumpers before being pulled-up after three out in a Punchestown maiden hurdle last month. Plenty to prove at present.

Managed to unseat his rider in two career point-to-point starts in the spring. Possible a watching brief today on stable and rules debut.

Aussie Rules gelding out of a Beneficial mare. Half brother to sturdy types Irish Cavalier and Stynes. No impression under 4f and well held on debut in a bumper here last month. Market likely to be the best guide on second start.

Not disgraced in a couple of bumper starts in his career last month. Trainer thinks the time is right for hurdling debut and worth a check in the market.

Winner of one of her six point-to-point starts with her appearances infrequent since her debut in April 2016. Others preferred on stable debut.

Slight promise in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle last month finishing sixth of 14 beaten 12L on good ground over 2m. Market should be informative and plenty of scope for improvement in first-time cheekpieces.

Well beaten and no impression in three career starts to date including a heavy defeat when last seen in November. Hard to fancy on comeback run.

Nothing of note in three dismal displays since April including on hurdling debut at Punchestown last month. First time hood unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.

Verdict

Trainer Gordon Elliott immediately switches stable newcomer CALIPTION back to hurdles following a 10L defeat on stable debut over fences at Downpatrick last month. The six-year-old may only have the relatively inconsistent Border Control to beat here while the Peter Fahey-trained Court Tycoon and Andrew Slattery's Cooldine Bog are open to improve on their most recent starts and battle it out for the remaining place.
