Anglo Printers Irish EBF Handicap Hurdle (80-109)
2m 160y | Good to Firm (Good in places) | 16 Runners | Turf
Off time: 20:55 | Winning time: 3m 57.6s
Been running consistently and might find this a little easier than the Kilbeggan handicap he tried last time out, open to a little improvement and a true run race would help his cause.
Was in good form last year, winning twice and shaped well enough on recent reappearance run at Downpatrick but arguably wants a bit further than this, and ground quick enough as well.
Winner at Limerick in April but that was on ground much slower than today's, and he found life a lot harder off his revised mark last time out. Drop back in trip may help but a bit to prove on this ground.
Into the veteran stage now, pops up from time to time and was in good form around this time last year but recent efforts on the Flat and jumps rather suggest he's gone off the boil at present.
Rattled off a hat-trick last autumn and theta capped off a good season for him, ran perfectly respectably on comeback at Punchestown last month and may well pick up where he left off last year under conditions that suit.
Steady improvement for his three runs over hurdles so far and wasn't beaten far in a big field maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time. Hardly thrown in for handicap debut but should improve and yard going well.
Only moderate on the Flat and looks harshly treated for handicap debut today, his fourth at Wexford in June seemingly responsible for this mark. Others make more appeal.
Twice a winner on yielding/soft ground in the spring but seemed to find new mark beyond him when well beaten at Kilbeggan last time out. Bit to prove now.
Came good at Roscommon last time out, sticking on well for pressure to get up close home. Should improve again and no reason not to go well on handicap debut tonight.
Placed in a couple of big-field handicaps when last seen out but that was back in January 2017 and best form to date has come on softer ground than he's likely to encounter here. Needs a market check all the same.
Showed little on his first three runs over hurdles but left all that behind on handicap debut at Gowran last month, found the post coming a stride too soon. Up 3lb for that but more improvement likely now they have found the key to him.
Only just failed to win at Downpatrick last time out but that was over 3f further than today, and he might find things happening a little quickly. Chances from a 4lb higher mark nevertheless.
Nicely backed to win on handicap debut at Tipperary in May but couldn't follow that up when well fancied again at Ballinrobe. Moderate effort on the Flat since then and needs to bounce back now.
Yard always capable of landing a gamble in these sort of races but hasn't really shown enough in four hurdles starts to think he's a likely winner here, and he was well beaten on recent reappearance run on the Flat.
Winner on the Flat and unexposed over hurdles but was well beaten on recent handicap debut to think he's going to be a threat here.
Made favourite back when reverting to hurdles on latest start (first start for the yard) but was well beaten. No win in 29 starts and unlikely to break her duck here.
