Half-brother to useful 6f winner Naggers, but he's shown more temperament than ability in a trio of outings to date, hanging badly last time.
Exceed And Excel filly who belatedly built on debut promise when when 2½L second of 8 to Soffia in 5f maiden at the Curragh last time. Clear of rest there, and winner has scored well subsequently.
Sales price dropped markedly as a two-year-old, and this gelding has been well held in two starts to date, albeit faring a bit better at the Curragh last time, when 6L behind runner-up Amthaal.
Acts in the mud, but seems better on a sound surface, and runner-up twice at Navan prior to a respectable sixth at the Curragh last time. Exposed now, but sets the standard on turf form, and sure to be thereabouts.
Half-brother to owner's smart sprinter Justice Day, but he's looked rather limited in two starts to date, changing yards in between. Hood added to tongue tie he wore on debut, and other preferred.
Poor maiden on balance of form, and ran badly in first-time blinkers at Navan last time. Headgear dispensed with now.
Bred along attractive sprinting lines, and has hinted at ability in two starts eight months apart. Will do better, although handicaps a more attractive option after another run.
Shaped with plenty of promise in two starts last spring, and off 14 months before a below-par effort at Fairyhouse last month. Entitled to strip fitter for that reappearance effort.
Full-sister to 2-y-o 5f winner Giselle's Charm. No match for easy winner, but shaped well when second to Now You're Talking in maiden at Dundalk in March. Entitled to go close on that form, although absence since is a minor concern.
Forecasts
Early Call (5/4), Amthaal (11/4), View The Bay (7/2), Social Butterfly (13/2), Patrice's Wish (20/1), Run The Day (33/1), Takeachancejimmy (100/1), Mrs Hitchcock (100/1), An Cait Dubh (100/1)
AMTHAAL improved when second to a subsequent winner at the Curragh last time, and may have enough improvement in her to deny the consistent Early Call. View The Bay has been off since making a very encouraging debut at Dundalk in March, and would have a big shout if translating that form to turf.
- Amthaal
- Early Call
- View The Bay
