Four-time C&D winner who won at this meeting last year from the same mark. Added a Kelso hunter chase to his CV in May. Can occasionally throw in a stinker, like last time, but usually bounces back and has solid claims here.
Hasn't yet shown his best in two starts at this track, but arrives in good form after a decisive Hexham win (3m, good) last month. Up 9lb for that career-best effort. Much respected, though has never yet strung two wins together.
Triple winner over hurdles for Dianne Sayer, but 0-6 over fences so far. Won from 5lb higher than this over the smaller obstacles last year, so has it in him to give a good account if blinkers work better than cheekpieces have.
Won a novices' handicap chase over C&D (good) last year, when 4lb higher. A spell in the doldrums followed that, but he has been a bit better of late. Even so, he needs to come right back to his best to figure.
Sole chase came on soft (2m5f) at Uttoxeter in December 2016, though did win his hurdle on good. Back to somewhere near his best at Market Rasen last time out and from the same mark he needs a little bit more to win again.
Veteran who has won 2-9 chases, both last year over 3m on good ground. 1lb lower than the most recent of those again and stable going well, so can't rule him out.
Triple winner here, although all of those have been over shorter trips. Has proved that he stays beyond 3m since then, when second from this mark at Kelso in May. Has a squeak if he can produce a repeat effort.
This looks wide open and the suggestion is KILBREE KID to defy topweight, given that he has a C&D win from this mark to his name. Cooking Fat, Ganbei and Jovial Joey are all well treated if any are able to produce their best, while Return Flight could be a danger to the selection, while the same applies to last-time winner Tickenwolf.
