Second in a Kelso novices' hurdle (2m, good) last year, before winning a point-to-point in April. Unseated when going well as favourite on chase debut last time and now reverts to hurdles. A clear round would give him claims.

Won a maiden point-to-point on good to firm last year. Has shown some promise in novices' hurdles, though was never a threat on his handicap debut over C&D last time. Drops 3lb and cheekpieces on, so better effort probable.

1-9 under rules, though has never started at an SP greater than 17-2. Failed to get to grips with chasing and was beaten 27L from 7lb higher when last seen over hurdles in April. Had wind surgery since then, but plenty to prove.

Has not yet come close to getting competitive in eight starts over hurdles. Is 14lb higher here than the mark he raced off in Ireland in September. Slightly better effort last time under this pilot, but plenty on his plate here.

Runner-up here in successive races earlier this year, including over C&D (good) from 4lb lower. Not in the same form at Cartmel last time, but if he can shrug that off then he would be entitled to enter calculations.

4lb worse off with Shanaway for beating him 1¼L here in May. Backed that up with a better effort in defeat at Uttoxeter last time. Nudged up another 2lb for that, but should be thereabouts again.

Repectable effort when third, beaten 12L, at Downpatrick (2m5½f, good) last time. Yet to fully convince over this far, so has that to prove, but not ruled out on an each-way basis.

Posted a career-best on his reappearance from almost a year off when 4L third at Ayr (2m5½f, good), in first-time blinkers in May. Unseated early last time, but if you can forgive him that, he looks to have decent claims over this longer trip.

Well beaten in all starts in bumpers and over hurdles. Can only watch.

Has shown glimmers of promise, including at this venue, over hurdles. Was thereabouts for quite some way over C&D last time. Drops 3lb here and a much more competitive effort would not surprise.

Mission Triop15
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-4| J: James Bowen| T: Stef Keniry| OR:  80
9/2
Posted his best of five hurdling efforts last time out when beaten under 6L at Uttoxeter (2m7½f, good). Same mark today, so will need to take another step up on that form to win, but is an each-way player.

Ran well at Sedgefield (2m4f, good) when a 4L third in novices' company in May. Well held in two handicaps since then, but has dropped a further 3lb today may not be too far away.

2lb out of the handicap here and although he posted a more respectable effort than most of his form at Hexham last time, he looks worth taking on again.

Forecasts

Our Morris (7/2), Petite Ganache (7/2), Mission Trio (9/2), Dutch Canyon (8/1), Shanaway (9/1), Uluroo (9/1), Maureen's Star (12/1), Robintheaulad (14/1), Angel's Envy (16/1), Call Me (18/1), Charin' Cross (18/1), Highland Peak (25/1), Airdrigh (40/1), Russiantom (100/1)

Verdict

This can go to PETITE GANACHE, who should be able to improve over this trip and after unseating last time, gets a second chance to prove that. Uluroo is a potential danger off topweight, while Shanaway and Our Morris are others who could be in the shake-up, and Mission Trio is not ruled out. Look out too for better efforts from both Highland Peak and Angel's Envy.
  1. Petite Ganache
  2. Uluroo
  3. Shanaway
