Improved with each run in bumpers. Reasonably promising third and final effort in that sphere. Pedigree suggests that he could make a jumper, though he may have to wait for other days to break his duck.
Won a Sedgefield bumper last year (good). Best effort over hurdles was his debut in this discipline at Wetherby, over a similar trip in October. Has had wind surgery since last seen in April. Market check advised.
Won a Sligo maiden over 1m2½f on the Flat in Ireland in 2016 and is currently rated 79 in that code. Sold for 21,000gns in October and now makes debut for this trainer. No jumping success in pedigree, but some stamina in there. Could go well.
0-3 over hurdles, but early days and ran well at Uttoxeter in novices' company last time. Will probably need further improvement to win this, but couldn't rule him out of the frame again.
Half-brother to 2m3f-2m5f chase winner I'm An Izz Wizz out of a 2m5f and 2m7f chase winning half-sister to useful 2m-2m5f hurdle/chase winner Northern Hide and 2m4f-2m6f hurdle winner Johnny's Turn. Best watched on debut.
Showed promise here in each of his first two bumper runs, which were almost two years apart. Not as good when 58L last in a seller on his hurdle debut last month. Can only watch this time.
Has run some good races in the context of this contest, his 5L second in a similar race at Sedgefield in April (2m4f, good) being arguably his standout effort. Reasonably consistent and although proving a little expensive to follow, he has claims.
Has so far shown very little in bumpers and also when pulled up on his hurdling debut last time. Tongue tie added today, but need to see much more before he can be considered.
Unable to build on the modicum of promise she showed in bumpers since being sent hurdling. Well held again over C&D last time. Others make greater appeal.
Beaten 21L in the only one of five Irish point-to-points that she has completed. Is full-sister to a bumper/hurdles/chase winner, so there may be some ability within and interesting that the champion takes the mount. Tough task on what we have seen.
Forecasts
My Brother (7/4), Judge Earle (11/4), Stay In Touch (3/1), Outback Blue (7/1), Pegase Amour (14/1), Westbank (20/1), Amarone Gentleman (40/1), Lady Samback (50/1), Strathy (66/1), Solway Lark (150/1)
A very poor contest to commence the afternoon and the suggestion is MY BROTHER, who may be able to transfer his Flat abilities to this sphere and should be well prepared by his trainer. Stay In Touch is an obvious danger, but he does look vulnerable, while Amarone Gentleman could get involved for the minor honours and given that the champ is booked, check the market for any confidence in the very moderate pointer Westbank on her rules debut.
- My Brother
- Stay In Touch
