In first-time blinkers and well found in the market (9/2) when pulled-up at Wolverhampton last time (clearly amiss). Cheekpieces now return (worn once before) and had shown some promise on return; chance if back to his best.
Yet to really fire on the Flat this season and last seen on the level on the AW under an inexperienced amateur. Modest second on his hurdling debut last time out. Blinkers now return back on the Flat and drops in trip also.
His last two starts have confirmed his return to form shaping well on both occasions; did looks stretched by this distance at Doncaster. Given a chance by the handicapper but this 1m4f trip is a little bit of a worry despite the drop in class.
Unreliable sort who is a C&D winner but has a losing run that stretches back to September 2016 (some 30 starts). Ran one of his better races last time off this mark but will he be able to back this up (he hasn't done so before).
One of two chances that the stable have in this but he's as unreliable as his stable companion with a losing run of 33. Turned in a display typical of him last time travelling well and then finding little at the business end; not one to trust.
Plummeted in the weights and hard for him to fall much further although he did take a step back in the right direction last time on the AW. You have to go a fair way back for his last solid form but not totally discounted in a weak heat.
Just his third run for this yard and he's stepped up significantly in trip for this run having shown a flicker of promise last time. This run is likely to reveal more but it should be remembered that the yard haven't yet had a winner this year.
Another unreliable sort and it's now 20 outings since she last struck and despite the yard being in good form she's a hard sort to love. Chance she might fall into a place given the form of the trainer but not one to rely on.
Forecasts
Iberica Road (13/8), Tewafeedj (5/1), New Abbey Angel (13/2), Falcon's Fire (7/1), Fillydelphia (8/1), Highway Robber (8/1), Enemy Of The State (16/1), Ballyfarsoon (16/1)
A race that has very few solid options and it probably gives some infrequent winners their best chance to break some long losing sequences. The Keith Dalgleish pair Falcon’s Fire and New Abbey Angel are far from trustworthy but the former in particular is capable of winning in this grade if he puts his mind fully to the job but that’s not guaranteed. Tewafeedj would have a real chance if he’s over whatever ailed him last time. Highway Robber is worth noting in the market and isn’t totally out of this but the suggestion is IBERICA ROAD in the hope that he can last out this trip on a sharp track; he’s more resolute than most of these.
- Iberica Road
- Tewafeedj
- Highway Robber
