Has run well the last twice without winning. Creeping up the weights but shapes like this step up in trip should really suit and is a leading contender here once again.

Would have gone close to winning but for a bad error at the last flight two starts ago. Stopped very quickly at Worcester last time like all wasn't well and that clearly wasn't his running. Capable off mark and Richard Johnson keeps the faith.

Age: 9|  Weight: 11-10| J: Harry Bannister| T: B Barr| OR:  112

Won a three-mile handicap hurdle on decent ground at Southwell in July last year off a 7lb lower mark. Struggled a little after and hasn't now been seen on the track for nine months. Likely to need the run to be spot on.

18lb higher than for his sole hurdles success under rules. Did win off this mark over fences back in June 2016 but has been plying his trade in point-t-points in recent time. This is a big ask on first start for these connections today.

Beaten a long way in all three novice hurdles including when trying to make all the running in a three-runner event at Warwick last time. Steps up in trip for handicap debut so market check very much needed but needs to jump better.

Won with some authority at Newton Abbot (good) last month when travelling strongly through the race. Runner-up there is a well handicapped mare so worth every ounce of her penalty and should be hard to beat if in the same mood today.

Forecasts

Good Tradition (13/8), Glanvilles Guest (9/4), Bright Tomorrow (4/1), Byron Blue (10/1), March Is On (14/1), Percy Thrower (16/1), Billy Two Tongues (40/1)

Verdict

GLANVILLES GUEST travelled powerfully through her race when winning comfortably last time and the 7lb rise is unlikely to stop her if she is in the same mood. Good Tradition shapes like this step up in trip should suit and he is very much respected. Any market support for March Is On should be noted on handicap debut for his shrewd yard.
