Had looked rather limited until a much-improved display at Chepstow last time, seemingly relishing fast turf in winning by a wide margin in handicap company. Still unexposed, and leading claims if as effective here.
Runner-up in a C&D handicap on return, and has continued in fine form, winning at Beverley and placed on all other starts. Seems sure to run another solid race, so needs serious consideration.
Best effort to date when winning 6f novice at Ripon last August, but has disappointed in three runs since, and pulled hard when well held at Nottingham in May.
Would have claims on form he showed when third in a 1m3f handicap at Kempton in April, but lesser efforts on turf since, and drops further in trip here. Tends to race freely, and tried in a hood last time.
Won a 7f novice at Haydockcvc for James Tate last season, and gradually working way back to form for new yard of late, finishing 3½L fourth of 7 to The Right Choice at Pontefract last time. Bit more required.
Produced a career-best effort when runner-up at Beverley in April, but has stalled a little since, and no revival when tried in a visor at same track last time. Needs to put her best foot forward to figure.
Showed improved form when runner-up on return/handicap bow over 6f at Salisbury, but backward steps since, and latest effort at Windsor was too bad to be true. Risky.
Regressed after good start for Michael O'Callaghan in Ireland, but back on track when winning C&D handicap on debut for current yard (tongue tied). Has run poorly on both starts since, however, and clearly needs treating with caution.
Typical of stable's handicappers in that he showed little over 5f/6f on first few starts, but improved for longer trip and switch to handicaps when close fifth at Newcastle last week. Will progress again, for all 1m+ will suit better. Visored now.
Quite an expensive purchase, and while he hasn't set the world alight in three starts at Yarmouth, he's faced stiffish tasks, and is likely to do better at this sort of level. Blinkers retained, and top jockey booked now.
Beaten only by a subsequent winner over 1m½f here in May, and back to form when second over 1m at Chepstow last time. Drop back to 7f a concern, but seems to be coming to the boil.
Forecasts
True North (4/1), Bbob Alula (9/2), Turquoise Bay (11/2), Onefootinparadise (8/1), Christmas Night (8/1), Zapateado (8/1), Iconic Boy (8/1), Summerseat Mist (12/1), Leeshaan (20/1), Popsicle (28/1), Dorcas (40/1)
Bbob Alula will go very well if repeating the form of his Chepstow romp, but he does need to show he's as effective on this surface, and preference is for the consistent CHRISTMAS NIGHT. True North looks a typical improver for Sir Mark Prescott, and needs respect in a first-time blinkers.
- Christmas Night
- True North
- Bbob Alula
