Pulled-up on his last two starts, seems to be going the wrong way and top-weight likely to be far too tall an order here.
2

Down the field in three novice/maiden hurdles (one of which was markedly more impressive than the other two). Handicaps likely to suit better but this opening mark looks a little high.

Won off 7lb higher than this a year ago, but mostly lackluster form since though, both on the Flat and over obstacles.

Solid effort on stable debut at this course last time out and drops back in trip here. On the same mark and strong claims if able to come on for the run.

Beaten 50L+ on his last two starts, and based on all known form under rules a similar story here would be no surprise.
6
Horse silk
Thames Knightp7
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-6| J: R T Dunne| T: J R Boyle| OR:  94
5/2
Five lengths behind Celestial Path (runs in the first division of this) at Worcester last time out. Comfortable rest of the best there (18L back to the third), and so could be well-treated off the same mark.
7

Magical Thomasp,t43
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: T Scudamore| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  93
14/1
Final run of last campaign and first run of this year both below the required level of form for this contest, though he's just 1lb above his last winning mark and could improve for his last run.

Jeremy's Jett18
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: Lee Edwards| T: A W Carroll| OR:  91

Only win to date came in a AW Class 7 handicap on the Flat, and he has shown very little in handicap hurdles up to this point.
9

Anton Dolin12
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-1| J: Lewis Stones(7)| T: M Mullineaux| OR:  89| D
12/1
Good performances since returning to hurdles on his last three starts, and only creeping up the weights slowly. Losing run building up but his turn could be near again.

Horse silk
Eric The Thirdh16
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-7| J: Alan Johns| T: Tim Vaughan| OR:  81| D
5/2
Comfortable winner over fences when last seen and is also a winner over hurdles (mark now much lower in this sphere). Strong claims if able to show the same level of form here.
12
Horse silk
Hey Bobt19
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: C Grant| OR:  74| D
20/1
Just 1lb lower than when beaten 15L at Southwell last time out, and 1/40 strike-rate in his career hardly encouraging.

Forecasts

Thames Knight (5/2), Eric The Third (5/2), Intifadah (7/2), Anton Dolin (12/1), Mighty Whitey (12/1), Magical Thomas (14/1), Teescomponents Max (16/1), Hey Bob (20/1), Jeremy's Jet (25/1), Royal Beekeeper (25/1), West Class (33/1), Fred's Filly (50/1)

Verdict

THAMES KNIGHT will be particularly appealing if Celestial Path can win under a penalty in the first division of this, but even if he comes up short the fact the selection here finished 18 lengths ahead of the third when behind that rival at Worcester last time out shows he could be very well treated off the same mark here. Having had just the two starts in handicap hurdles further improvement is highly likely, and he is taken to get the better of Eric The Third, a comfortable winner over fences last time and Intifadah for the Skeltons.
  1. Thames Knight
  2. Eric The Third
  3. Intifadah
