Been running really well this year and would surely have gone very close to winning at Epsom last time but for jockey making a bee-line for the stands rail turning for home and giving away lots of ground. Player once again off the same mark here.
Half-brother to Group 1 winner Rainbow View. Bolted up on reappearance at Lingfield (1m2f, AW) last month when looking mightily impressive. This mark on handicap debut asks for plenty more but clearly has an abundance of potential and more to come.
Ran as well as can be expected in a Group 2 at Royal Ascot last week. This race is far less demanding and is sure to be a player for a yard that are going really well. This drop back in trip asks another question having shaped like a stayer.
Won really well when beating Poet's Prince at Newbury off a 9lb lower mark in May. Well backed for the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot last week but didn't see out the trip. Comes back in distance for this and yards runners regularly bounce back
Showed rapid improvement the last twice, following up Leicester win with a stylish success at Sandown two weeks ago. Up another 9lbs for that but he had any amount in hand on the day and further progress is highly likely.
Been running well this year but best performance came when winning at Ripon (1m, soft) off a 4lb lower mark. First step up beyond a mile today and whilst he still has low mileage, he is up against some rapidly improving types here.
Forecasts
Wissahickon (5/2), Poet's Prince (7/2), Elector (4/1), Communique (4/1), Beringer (5/1), Crownthorpe (14/1)
A high-class renewal of this event despite the small numbers. Mark Johnston's runners Poet's Prince and Communique are both respected as they have improvement left in them. Similar comments that can be made about both Beringer who won as easily as he liked at Sandown and Elector who found a Group 2 at Royal Ascot too much last time. Ready preference is for WISSAHICKON who looked like a horse with incredible potential when winning at Lingfield last time and is taken to win this on route to pattern company.

- Elector
