Successfully stepped up in trip and enjoyed the stiff finish at Beverly earlier in the month. Sets the standard on the official ratings and has to merit consideration despite giving weight away all round.

Related to winners over this trip and has scope to progress after showing promise when tried over an extended mile at Nottingham last time. Stable going well and, with a skillful claimer taking 5lb off his back, the gelding has to be shortlisted.
A half-brother to Windsor Beach, a winner over this trip, and out of a well-related dam who is an influence for stamina. Represents a high-profile yard that is going well. Big chance of making an immediate impact.

Yard struggling for winners and this cheaply purchased gelding (£1,400) makes limited appeal in what looks like an informative little contest.

Stepped up from her debut run in Ireland (first run for her current yard) with a solid effort over 1m2f at Salisbury latest. Open to further progress and has a sound claims on these terms.

Didn't achieve much in two previous starts but is bred for this sort of trip and possibly found cut in the ground a negative factor up to now. The betting can guide but she lacks the scope held by a couple of the others.

Forecasts

Rayita (7/4), The Night Porter (9/4), Zatorius (3/1), Canford Heights (7/1), Warmhearted (16/1), Tin Fandango (100/1)

Verdict

This has the look of a potentially informative contest, with a handful worth noting for future reference. The likes of: Zatorious and Warmhearted both have scope for progress once they've attained handicap marks, while The Night Porter already sets a fair standard after winning at Beverley earlier this month. However, RAYITA caught the eye in defeat at Salisbury and, as she receives plenty of weight from her main rivals, this could be a good opportunity for her to shine. Canford Heights is a well-bred newcomer from a top yard who also adds spice to the mix and would be dangerous to ignore if attracting the interest of the betting market.
  1. Rayita
  2. The Night Porter
  3. Canford Heights
