Seen to good effect last time out when making all at Perth last month with the 4lb rise he's been given for that success looking fair enough. Did have things all own way here and nit certain to do so this time around.

His form over fences so far has been poor although he did shape a little better than his finishing position when last seen in January over hurdles. Struggled to stay the trip there and this 2m5f looks perfect if he can find some form.

Already a C&D winner when taking a hunter chase at the May meeting last year but it was a return to hurdles that really sparked some recent improvement. Quickly switched back to fences (same mark) and a major player on second run for this yard.

Another thriving sort who landed a gamble back over hurdles at Uttoxeter off a break (made all) before following up in fine style over fences (travelled strongly). Now under a 7lb penalty he should go well again.

Won this last year when with Sue Smith off a mark of 88 and followed up at the next meeting to complete a C&D double off a 4lb higher mark. Nowhere near the same form now and that win last year came off the back of a good previous run.

C&D win remains her only success and not hard to have reservations about her form and attitude in general now. Ran no sort of race last time out and hard to see her coping with some in form types here.

Eager To Know27

Looks as though he might be slightly better over fences than he was over hurdles (has won an Irish point-to-point) given his recent starts over the larger obstacles. His jumping isn't the most convincing though; could get placed at best.

Fit For Fifty44
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR:  80| BF

Has yet to get himself into the winners circle and his form hasn't as yet improved for the switch to fences. Does look capable of more as a chaser though as he gains experience and competes off a lowly mark in this.

Rather quirky sort who has twice won over fences in similar fashion coming from off the pace after looking rather hard work. His latest hurdles effort looked rather dubious form and once again he looked a testing ride.

Warksburn Boy13
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-1| J: Harry Reed(5)| T: Mrs S Walton| OR:  71
33/1
Showed his first form for ages last time out when he was out of the handicap at Hexham sticking on well over a shorter trip. Given his previous form he's hardly likely to back this up and is passed over here.

Forecasts

Martha's Benefit (7/4), Isle Road (3/1), Eager To Know (7/1), Fit For Fifty (9/1), Boy's On Tour (10/1), Shine Away (14/1), Minella Suite (14/1), Warksburn Boy (33/1), Brother Scott (33/1), Odds On Dan (33/1)

Verdict

Last year’s winner Brother Scott doesn’t come into this in anything like the same form and he also faces two in-form types this year both of whom have run in point-to-points and bounced back to form under Rules. There was no denying that Martha’s Benefit showed improved form when winning over hurdles last time and can make her mark back over fences but ISLE ROAD is on a similar progressive path and still looks well-in at the weights under his penalty having won his last two. Most of the others have something to prove although Boys On Tour will like this track and Fit For Fifty could prove better than his lowly mark in the future.
