Only win from 22 starts came on the fibresand but does have form on this surface. Didn't handle soft conditions last time and should be suited by return to the AW. Probably prefers a furlong shorter but place possibilities again.

Has been struggling over further and worth a try back at this trip in first-time blinkers. Stable though going through a quiet patch and others preferred.

Now 13lb lower than last win for previous trainer Richard Fahey and made an encouraging seasonal and stable debut. Down in trip but had form at this distance earlier in her career and looks a leading contender.

Needs to bounce back from a disappointing last run but remains on a competitive mark and holds place possibilities in an open race.

First try at this far on start number 118 and doesn't stand out as needing a stamina test. Well beaten on both starts for new stables and hard to recommend.

19-race maiden who has dropped to a mark at which he should be competitive. Has gone well in this grade over the C&D previously and holds place hopes.

Racing well enough on turf and interesting back at a track where both his career wins have come (one over C&D). Should be in the mix now down in grade and back on last winning mark.

Nine-race maiden for Ed Dunlop who arguably put in a career best when a well-held second over the C&D. Could be competitive but more required on stable debut.

Repeatedly denied a run behind winning stablemate last time and continues off a very competitive mark. Stable remain in very good form and looks a leading contender.

Yet to win after just seven starts but showed improvement when upped to this trip last time. Just got too far back from a poor draw and had to come very wide and the run can be upgraded. Rates a major player.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: P Mulrennan| T: B Haslam| OR:  58

Has gone well here previously but latest two runs on turf were disappointing. Best runs have come at a furlong shorter and improvement required in first-time visor.

Captain Peaky8

Remains a maiden after 19 starts but much better over a furlong further when narrowly denied on just his second start for new stable. Possible soft ground brought the improvement and needs to back it up back on AW over a shorter trip.

Open to more improvement than his rivals after just four starts and was a decent fourth on handicap debut when running on off a slow pace. Should be competitive but possible he'll need further in time.

Forecasts

Captain Peaky (11/2), Where's Jeff (6/1), Lukoutoldmakezebak (13/2), Global Wonder (8/1), Supreme Power (8/1), Allux Boy (10/1), Mimic's Memory (10/1), Irish Times (10/1), Island Flame (11/1), Elysee Star (20/1), King's Coinage (20/1), Thornaby Nash (25/1), Pindaric (80/1), Ambitious Icarus (100/1)

Verdict

An open handicap where Island Flame has dropped to a really good mark and should be involved back at a trip which should suit. Lukoutoldmakezebak likes this C&D and gets a welcome drop in class while Allux Boy caught the eye last time and could easily have gone close with more luck. Likewise WHERE'S JEFF found things against him in the run at Ripon and gets the verdict in a weaker contest.
  1. Where's Jeff
  2. Island Flame
  3. Allux Boy
