Second of nine beaten a neck behind Zylan in a Beverley handicap over 7½f on Tuesday with a return to long-lost form on turf. Will need to reproduce that run here now racing 18lb lower than last winning mark.
Distance winner who was beaten favourite in a Chepstow handicap finishing fifth of eight on good ground earlier this month. Knocking on the door of late and worthy of consideration.
One of three Irish raiders from the yard at the meeting and this gelding was last seen well held in a Down Royal handicap over this trip last week. Hard to place any faith in.
Hard to win with, but very well treated on old form, and somewhat unlucky to be demoted from second place in 6f amateur event here earlier this month. Comes in to the reckoning of the back of a solid run at Wetherby last week.
Hints of a return to form at Chepstow on Monday when third of 11 beaten 1½L over 6f. Not ruled out but a difficult one to trust.
Forecasts
Mujassam (5/2), Sfumato (7/2), Vallarta (4/1), Dodgy Bob (11/2), Ninjago (6/1), Duncan Of Scotland (12/1), B Fifty Two (14/1)
The Iain Jardine-trained SFUMATO can land the closer here following solid and persistent displays here last month and more recently at Chepstow. The improving four-year-old can hold off the attentions of the Ruth Carr-trained Vallarta while Ninjago and Mujassam are likely to be popular in the market.
