Knows where the winning post is but efforts this year haven't been inspiring and hard to put forward at the moment. Needs to turn things around.
Has a bit of class about him but simply doesn't win enough to be confident about his chances, with his last drink at the bar coming in 2015. Settled for another second place finish at Stratford last time and is vulnerable.
Yet to win over further than 2m7f, but goes well on a sound surface and was not beaten far over a similar trip to this at Warwick in September. Certainly on a feasible mark after slight drop but needs to bounce back from two lesser efforts.
Hasn't made much of an impact in 3 starts since returning from a break, folding quite tamely over fences at Aintree and Punchestown in April and again at Down Royal over sticks last month. Capable of better.
Twice won handicaps over fences at this track in 2016 at 2m/2m4f, is back on most recent winning mark now having failed to convince in three starts for this handler so far.
Got off to a winning start over fences at Uttoxeter over 3m earlier this month, likely capable of further progress for in-form Skelton team. Sets the standard.
No luck in three chase starts in late 2016, couple of recent hurdles efforts haven't offered great hope but represents respected connections and not completely ruled out.
Career-best effort when scoring at Uttoxeter over 3m2f (good) last week, coming right away for a decisive success. Still on the right side of the handicapper despite the penalty and threat to all in same mood.
Forecasts
Fort Gabriel (11/4), Cabaret Queen (7/2), Sonneofpresenting (6/1), Casino Markets (13/2), Forthefunofit (8/1), Aubusson (8/1), Midnight Shot (12/1), Heist (20/1)
CABARET QUEEN knew her job on chasing bow at Uttoxeter and did things nicely for a winning start, Dan Skelton's mare is capable of progressing in this sphere and should take the beating here. Fort Gabriel was a wide-margin winner at the same venue last week and will not go down without a scrap if turning up here in the same mood. Aubusson doesn't win often enough but should run his usual steady race.
- Cabaret Queen
- Fort Gabriel
- Aubusson
