Good reappearance win on the AW at Lingfield, but has been held off higher marks since. Inching back down to a feasible mark, but looks a shade vulnerable.
Won twice over 7f last year, latterly in handicap company. Seasonal reappearance after being gelded and remains open to significant improvement with so few miles on the clock,
Landed a Nottingham maiden in April, last year, but that remains his only success. Last two efforts have been disappointing and it is hard to make a case for him until showing more.
Won a 1m2f Lingfield AW handicap in February, but last two displays on turf have been underwhelming. Has not been getting home over further so this trip off a lower mark may well play to his strengths.
Only win came at this track over 6f last October. Has run well off this sort of mark on his last two starts and there is no obvious reason why he should not be competitive again.
Game winner of a Haydock handicap last month, but came up short off this mark at Sandown last month. Needs to bounce back, but that is not impossible.
Best effort in three runs this season when a close fourth of eight over 7f at Haydock last time. Up in trip off the same mark and is one to consider for his in-form trainer.
Off the mark at the third attempt and on seasonal reappearance when landing a 7f maiden at this track. Up in distance on handicap debut and has to be taken seriously.
Off the mark at the 10th attempt when winning a Goodwood handicap in determined style. A 4lb rise is not excessive and he can feature again with his confidence high.
Forecasts
Power of Darkness (3/1), Bombastic (4/1), Big Tour (11/2), George (13/2), Mr Top Hat (7/1), Aquarium (8/1), Contrast (12/1), Valcartier (14/1), Wahash (16/1)
Big Tour is respected on his return to action and Contrast may be a more potent force over this shorter trip, but the selection is POWER OF DARKNESS who won a 7f maiden at this course last time and can strike in his first handicap. Others to consider in a trappy contest are Mr Top Hat, Bombastic, Aquarium and George.
- Power of Darkness
- Contrast
- Big Tour
