5/1
Reeled off a hat-trick of front-running wins last summer (all 1m2f), but has shot up the weights as a result; should come on for his reappearance fourth at Haydock last month, but stamina to prove and has competition for the lead from Guns Of Leros.

5/2
Front-runner who notched a hat-trick of wins in 2016 (1m2f-1m4f), before missing the whole of 2017; back with a shock 40/1 Newmarket win (1m2f) under an enterprising ride last month; up 6lb with competition for the lead tonight from Teodoro.

20/1
No Flat win since April 2015 (then based in France), competing almost exclusively over hurdles since November 2016; beaten 6L (third) by subsequent Aintree scorer Atomic Rumble over timber at Ffos Las (2m6f) latest.

Tuff Rock41
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-4| J: M Harley| T: D M Simcock| OR:  87
15/8
Cost $350,000 as a yearling; has left Ed Walker since running at York last month (1m4f), but merits serious consideration on some of his earlier placed handicap form, including his neck defeat by Starplex at Thirsk (1m4f) in April.

C'Est No Mour15
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-2| J: Tom Marquand| T: P Hedger| OR:  85| D
3/1
Progressive last summer winning four of his five starts between June and September (1m2f-1m4f), and has broadly held his own off higher marks in stronger contests so far in 2018 at the likes of Epsom, Ascot and Windsor.

Forecasts

Tuff Rock (15/8), Guns of Leros (5/2), C'Est No Mour (3/1), Teodoro (5/1), Travertine (20/1)

Verdict

The smallest field of the evening, but that doesn't make finding the winner easy. Pace angle Guns Of Leros won't have it all his own way up front tonight with Teodoro also in the field, but equally a 6lb rise for his Newmarket success isn't overly prohibitive. Tuff Rock has a new trainer (David Simcock) and a solid chance on the pick of his career best efforts, but we'll opt for C'EST NO MOUR. The Peter Hedger-trained five-year-old has acquitted himself well in Class 3 Handicaps this season, including when runner up to Fire Fighting at Windsor (1m3.5f) just over two weeks ago.
  1. C'Est No Mour
  2. Guns of Leros
  3. Tuff Rock
