Placed here on racecourse debut finishing second of 11 in September last year. Well beaten since but more expected here for leading bumper trainer/jockey combination.
Tailed off in three career starts and first time tongue-tie unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.
Winner of a point-to-point contest when last seen in March 2017. Bought for £65,000 at the Aintree sales and likely to be popular in the market on debut for new connections.
Poor in the point-to-point field and nothing to suggest a win on debut here. Looks a long-term prospect.
€20,000 purchase Alexandros gelding out of a Kaldoun mare. Pushed along and soon beaten over 2f out on debut here over 2m. Will need to improve to figure.
Gelding by Trans Island out of a Fair Mix mare notable progeny include John O'Shea's multiple hurdle winner Kanpai in 2006. Well held and nothing of note in two bumper starts to date.
Last of 16 when tailed off in a Gowran Park bumper on debut in February. Hard to construct much of a case for her in this contest.
Colt by Bashkirov out of a Intikhab mare. Ran a gallant second of 14 beaten 1¼L on debut in a Ballinrobe bumper last month. Another bold show looks likely.
Daughter of Flemensfirth out of a Pistolet Bleu mare related to Tidal Bay, Cappa Bleu and Sizing Europe. Well beaten on both bumper starts and others hold stronger profiles.
Arctic Cosmos filly out of a Saddlers Hall mare related to game national hunt types Uncle Junior and Master Of The Hall. Fifth of 10 beaten 17L on debut in a Roscommon bumper earlier this month. Worth a market check.
Forecasts
Jonnigraig (5/4), Present In Court (11/4), Russian Dancer (5/1), Under Surveillance (8/1), Gateway To Europe (16/1), Tamer Years (16/1), Shanroe Bandito (25/1), Never Walk Alone (33/1), Lough Allen Lad (50/1), Cinq Frank (66/1)
Trainer Willie Mullins may have found an ideal opening for the return of JONNIGRAIG here under son Patrick. The Masterofthehorse gelding can improve on two starts last season and land the spoils in the closer for the champion trainer here. The Gordon Elliott-trained Present In Court who was bought for £65,000 at the Aintree sales will be expected to go well for his new connections and can provide the biggest threat to the selection. Russian Dancer and Under Surveillance appear to be the best of the rest.
- Jonnigraig
