Dr Massini gelding, cost £5,400 as a three-year-old. Dam a point-to-point winner and half-sister to winning hurdle and chaser who stayed up to 3m. Has run to a similar standard in both starts and that will not be good enough.
Dam is and unraced half-sister to bumper/useful 2m-3m hurdle/chase winner Bold Sir Brian, so something to be taken from the pedigree. He looked short of pace on debut and his future lies over obstacles and 2m4f+.

Second foal of an unraced full-sister to bumper/2m hurdle winner Sharadiyn, half-sister to 2m-2m2f Flat/2m4f-3m hurdle winner Sharadi. Nice enough pedigree but he was under pressure a long way put on debut.

From the family of Gold Cup winner Imperial Call. Showed a high cruising speed and an impressive change of gear to score at Perth. This looks a stronger race, but no doubting she has the ability to match the pedigree.
€28,000 half-brother to two winning hurdlers including four-time winner On The Record. Dam is related to a Midlands National victor so his future lies over further. Yard do well here and also in these events, so very much one to consider.
Kalanisi half-brother to useful chaser Pumped Up Kicks. failed to complete the course in three point-to-points and was favourite for the last two. Yard have made a profit from winning similar races and selling their horses on, so hard to rule out.

Placed in similar races here and at Uttoxeter for a stable that do well in these races. This looks stronger than her last two contests and that makes her vulnerable.
9

Makes little appeal on pedigree and the level of ability shown in either start so far. Stable have not made the frame with their 14 runners in similar races since 2014.

Horse silk
100/1
Makes little appeal on pedigree and fledgling trainer is seeking his first winner. Unlikely she will provide it in this company.

Easy winner of a Trecoed point-to-point (uphill finish) who caught the eye with her finishing effort in a decent Stratford bumper. Receives all the allowances and this stiffer track is a major positive.

Forecasts

Gonn Away (2/1), Imperial Elysian (5/2), Get An Oscar (3/1), Onelasthand (13/2), Thepensionfund (8/1), Warner Edward (9/1), Accordini (25/1), Bobndave (40/1), Fixed Asset (100/1), She's A Primadiva (100/1), Quasha (150/1)

Verdict

This is a decent standard for this type of contest at this venue with Gonn Away seeking to add to her Perth victory and The Pensionfund showing plenty of promise on debut. Imperial Elysian and Warner Edward make their rules debuts for yards who are leading exponents of landing this type of event, but GET AN OSCAR is nominated as a likely winner given how she came from off the pace to finish a close second around a sharp circuit. She had won a point-to-point on an undulating circuit with an uphill finish so this track looks ideal and she can both build on that experience and take advantage of the helpful allowance.
  1. Get An Oscar
  2. Imperial Elysian
  3. Gonn Away
