Developed into a fair hurdler and rated 129 at his peak. Has won here previously and he made a good start to his chase career when runner-up to a horse rated 9lb superior.
French import has made little impact so far and embarks on a new career over fences. Pitted against rivals rated more than 40lb ahead of him and the Hexham gradients are not the only mountain to be climbed.
In the process of running his best race for some time at Uttoxeter on chase debut before getting the second last all wrong. Had jumped well to that point and could gain compensation if the ground does not get any quicker than good.
Impressive winner of a Perth bumper last summer but has made little progress over hurdles. Begins a new chapter facing more highly rated rivals and hard to recommend.
Poor in point-to-points (1 from 17) and even less competitive under rules in novice/maiden company. Hard to see her being involved positively.
Forecasts
Caius Marcius (8/15), Okotoks (6/4), Vino's Choice (18/1), Falcos (66/1), Beyond The Glen (100/1)
There is little to separate CAIUS MARCIUS and Okotoks on form with both similarly rated over hurdles. The going is currently described as good but there is a fear that without rain it could ride faster than ideal for the latter. The selection was runner-up at Perth when conditions were quicker than advertised and he gains a marginal call on that basis.
