Lightly-raced sort who scored on his last start as a two-year-old and looked as though there was more to come after his debut this season at Lingfield over 7f. Found out by the more testing conditions last time this surface will suit more.

A winner over 5f on his debut on the AW and must have had a setback as he wasn't seen again until November finishing 2nd at Newmarket over 7f. Again ran well on his return this season and now looks primed for his first try in a handicap.

Looks on the upgrade having scored on his seasonal return before notching a good second in a big-field on his first run on turf (also handicap debut) at Doncaster. Up 4lb for that effort he's of interest again here with this 7f looking to suit.

Trainer really starting to fire now and having run well in a visor on his last two starts blinkers are now given a go having taken consecutive handicaps over 7f the second under a penalty. Further progress is likely and hard to ignore off 8lb higher.

Clearly progressive having won three of his last four starts and looked at home on turf debut last time which gives him more options. Did well to come from off the pace for that last win (not easy at Musselburgh); back from a break.

Made all for an improved performance at Brighton last time in a minor event and now steps into this sphere for the first time. Likeable sort who cost plenty for a small yard but not obviously well handicapped for this debut.

Progressed from run-to-run in novice events gaining experience with every run and went close to making a winning handicap debut at Wolverhampton (scene of her previous win). Up 4lb for that run and still looks on a fair mark in a tough heat.

Put her experience to good use when getting off the mark at the 6th attempt last November having run poorly the time before. Now makes her return/handicap debut with this trip looking as far as she would want to go.

Gelded over the winter he got off the mark on his return at Goodwood (7f, soft) although it was a rather muddling affair (pulled hard). Hard to draw too many conclusions from that run as he now makes his handicap debut.

Not disgraced in handicaps this year although he does look vulnerable to any improving types and there are quite a few in this. 4lb above his winning nursery mark and likely to find a few too good for him here back over 7f.

Forecasts

Beachwalk (7/2), Tribal Warrior (4/1), Hidden Affair (9/2), Maghaweer (5/1), Plunger (9/1), The Emperor Within (11/1), Point Hope (16/1), Los Camachos (16/1), Regular Income (20/1), Perfect Thought (25/1)

Verdict

Without doubt a competitive event to end the card with four making their handicap debuts and several others having already shown some progressive handicap form. With the Stoute team hitting their stride now BEACHWALK who is unbeaten since being fitted with headgear is taken to continue his upward curve and defy an 8lb rise with blinkers now fitted. Plunger looks a talented sort and he has room for progress with both Los Camachos and Tribal Warrior worthy of more than a second glance. Maghaweer will be more at home on this sounder surface and a better run is expected from him after he floundered in the mud last time.
