Lightly raced sort who set s solid record in novice races last year and has made the transition to handicaps this year running well twice. Just pushed back up the handicap for a second last time but back down in grade here.

Prominent racer who should make another bold show having done just that when winning a 1m maiden at Lingfield last month. Needs a little more to win in handicaps off this mark though with help needed from the handicapper.

Trainer starting to hit form now and there was improvement in all of her juvenile runs although there didn't appear any progress on her handicap debut. Didn't get a particularly clear run then and no surprise to see her do better this time.

Took a step forward on her two-year-old form when chasing home an improving/unexposed sort at Yarmouth on her return. Given a 3lb rise for that run and that looks a little harsh although she should run her race again.

Promise in both runs since being sent into handicaps with the drop back to 7f last time not really looking to suit. That form has worked out relatively well and given her pedigree she looks worth a try at his trip.

Looked as though the quicker ground suited her last time at Yarmouth as she ran well and was only picked off late on. Cheekpieces now go on for the first time in a bid to eke out some more progress.

Verdict

All of this sextet have something to recommend them and this isn’t an easy puzzle to solve with the suggestion going the way of AKVAVERA who posted a career-best effort last time when runner-up to a well handicapped sort at York over this trip. Admired comes from a yard starting to hit their straps and won with a similar sort at Beverley earlier in the week and it would be no surprise to see her step forward here. Vera Drake and Angelina D’Or can both be given a chance although neither looks that well handicapped. Chantresse needs to find a little more to take a hand but the cheekpieces may help on that score.
  1. Akvavera
  2. Admired
  3. Angelina D'Or
