Solid and consistent sort who has generally gone well in a number of chase starts to date and deserves a change of luck here on his ninth start over fences.

Proving very consistent and deservedly opened his account at the 11th attempt when winning a maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan in September. Beaten since before the end of the season and is expected to be well prepped for chasing debut.

Plenty to like about his second of nine beaten just over 5L on chasing debut in a Fairyhouse beginners contest in February. Likely to improve on that run for leading trainer/jockey combination.

Has produced two promising displays over the larger fences recently the latest of which when second of 15 beaten ½L in a Tramore beginners chase earlier this month. Likely to improve here.

Forecasts

Ornua (13/8), Roconga (3/1), Gangster (4/1), Veinard (8/1), Cotton Jenny (12/1), Sharps Choice (12/1), Play The Part (40/1), D'bru Na Boinne (50/1), Port Rashid (50/1), Mister Butler (50/1), Miracle Cure (66/1), Robins Spirit (66/1), Coursing Ben (100/1)

Verdict

The Edward O'Grady-trained ROCONGA has generally gone well in a number of chase starts to date without getting his head in front. But he has conditions very much in his favour here and may just have too much for potential improver Veinard who caught the eye on his only chase start at Fairyhouse in February. Given their most recent starts Cotton Jenny and Henry De Bromhead's Ornua give the impression we may not have seen the best of them yet.
