Ilewin Geez40
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-0| J: Harry Bannister| T: C J Mann| BF
2/1
Produced a big run after three years on the sidelines in February but has produced two disappointing efforts since. Admittedly a burst blood vessel did not help last time, but it hardly makes him an attractive proposition either.
2
Horse silk
40/1
Winner of a maiden point-to-point at Dromahane in 2017 and debuts for a good small yard here. One to note in the market for a race lacking quality.
3
Horse silk
Keel Over67
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: T J O'Brien| T: Mrs F Kehoe
5/1
Winner of three of his last four point-to-points and clear in the other when losing his rider. Looks interesting on rules debut with top pilot booked.
4
Horse silk
18/1
Beaten 41l when third here last time and weak as this race may be, he still does not look anywhere near good enough.
5
Horse silk
13/2
Had only shown modest form in point-to-points but was backed from 66's into 12's on rules debut and shaped better than his final position suggests. Comes from a good small yard and is one to consider.
6

Stay In Touchp25
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR:  110
5/2
Has his limitations and another error strewn round at Cartmel saw him do well under the circumstances to get as close as he did. Back to 2m and every chance in this lowly grade if nothing emerges from the pool of unexposed sorts.
7
Horse silk
The Phantomh44
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR:  105
8/1
Raced keenly before weakening at Ayr last month (2m good) on his first start for 17 months. No doubting that ability lurks within and he will be a lot straighter this time.
8
Horse silk
33/1
Has won two of her last six point-to-points but was pulled up in the others. Likely those victories came at a modest level, but this will take little winning so she needs watching in early trading.

Forecasts

Ilewin Geez (2/1), Stay In Touch (5/2), Keel Over (5/1), Some Can Dance (13/2), The Phantom (8/1), Out For Justice (18/1), Aine's Choice (33/1), Insufficient Funds (40/1)

Verdict

The experienced trio of Ilewin Geez, Stay In Touch and The Phantom are vulnerable to a less exposed sort. Of these Insufficient Funds and Some Can Dance come from good small yards and the market should be informative. KEEL OVER is an exciting and improving young point-to-pointer who easily beat dual winning handicap chaser Midnight Bliss in February. That suggests he should give a good account under Tom O'Brien.
  1. Keel Over
  2. Stay In Touch
  3. Some Can Dance
