Useful handicapper who has already won handicaps this year the last over this trip at Newmarket outstaying his pedigree. Failed to live up to expectations last time under a penalty (not seen to best effect) but 3lb higher here; needs to bounce back.
Not hard to forgive him both his starts this year (poorly positioned in both) and there could be better to come granted a level playing field. Won three times last year (all on the AW) and of interest with blinkers on first time.
Does have the look of one who can improve this year having won his first three starts (one on AW); highly tried towards the end of last year. One start this year didn't go to plan and suspicion remains that he's better than he was able to show.
Turned in one of his better efforts last time when 2nd to Aclimatise at Newmarket (beaten 5L) but the fact remains that he's been without a win for a while now. Dual C&D winner with his mark starting to allow him some hope of another win.
Two course wins to his name (one over this distance) have come in his last two runs. Performing well over this trip opens up more options for him (won readily last time) but has to prove that he can cope with this higher mark.
Decisive handicap winner back in 2016 over 7f he also showed that he can be a rather quirky character. Returned from a lengthy break in May and although he went well to a point he did weaken rather quickly; this will tell us more.
Quickly built up a good reputation here winning three times over C&D and looking able to cope with this grade. Disappointed when next seen back on turf running no sort of race at all and hopes pinned on a return to the AW.
Useful in handicaps and has won here over C&D (looks generally progressive). Interestingly retained by his handler for his four-year-old season and made a promising return to action after a layoff at Epsom off a 1lb higher mark.

Forecasts
Across Dubai (7/4), Melting Dew (3/1), Secret Art (6/1), Dommersen (6/1), Majeed (8/1), Canberra Cliffs (10/1), Brave Hero (12/1), Aclimatise (16/1), Red Label (16/1), Nonios (33/1)
An intriguing handicap full of options. Across Dubai is better than he was able to show last time his strength in the market showing that and he wasn’t well positioned in a slowly run race. Dommersen is another who hasn’t been able to show his best this year after looking promising in 2016 and the blinkers may well help him back to form. Canberra Cliffs did well to win coming from off the pace in another race run at a slow pace last time and she still looks on the up although she will find this tougher against male rivals. MELTING DEW looks just the sort that Sir Michael Stoute does well with and he’s selected to build on his Epsom run last time out with Aclimatise and Nonios respected.
