Unraced fifth foal by War Command out of a 5f-6f placed dam (Nizhoni). Cost 33,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to the 6f winner Ayasha.
Dandy Man filly who cost £40,000 as a yearling. Made a reasonable start to her racing career when beaten just under 3L (fourth of seven) at Redcar last month (6f good to firm).
Slade Power filly who is a half-sister to Raven's Corner (6f-7f) and Unforgetable Filly (German 1,000 Guineas winner); 40/1 but kept on well to chase home the John Gosden-trained Angel's Hideaway on debut at Haydock (6f); rock-solid chance.
Unraced tenth foal by Dawn Approach out of the Australian 6f winner French Bid; half-sister to a couple of 6f winners, so probably worthy of a glance in the betting at the very least.
Kyllachy filly (€60,000 yearling); well beaten on debut at Kempton (6f) in early June, and out of a 1m4f-1m6f winning dam will ideally require a much greater test of stamina.
Daughter of Farrh who on breeding will need further in time. Stable not noted for first time out winners and best watched. €25,000 yearling (€40,000 foal).
Unraced fourth foal by Requinto out of an unraced dam (half-sister to 6f juvenile winner Leitra). Cost just €5,000 as a yearling, but is herself a half-sister to the 6f winner Sartorialist.
Unraced second foal by Sepoy out of an unraced dam (Lasting View); cost £10,000 as a juvenile but faces a stiff introduction to racing here with Deira Surprise setting the clear benchmark.
Finished last of twelve on her second start at Haydock (6f good to firm) earlier this month and holds no chance with Deira Surprise based on that evidence.
Forecasts
Deira Surprise (4/11), Beechwood Izzy (4/1), Armageddon (9/1), Petite Magician (14/1), Hallalulu (16/1), Evie Speed (22/1), Valley Belle (33/1), Laura Louise (33/1), She's Grand (40/1)
With Josephine Gordon missing the opening day of Royal Ascot in order to travel North for her boss Hugo Palmer, it would take a brave punter to oppose DEIRA SURPRISE. Furthermore, she shaped very well on debut at Haydock recently behind a potentially useful horse trained by John Gosden (Angel's Hideaway), and with the advantage of a decent draw in stall 7, she'll prove very tough to beat.
- Deira Surprise
- Armageddon
- Beechwood Izzy
