Struggled in four starts since winning on the fibresand at Southwell in March and probably best watched on this occasion.
Beaten a neck over 6f on good-to-firm ground here on his penultimate outing. Well held over the same C&D subsequently but remains of interest.
C&D winner last July and a winner twice over this trip subsequently. Held sixth on good ground at Catterick last time and races off a mark 7lb lower than for his latest success.
Maiden winner on good-to-soft ground last August but struggled in two starts this term. Handicap mark is falling as a result and worth a check in the market.
Beaten just two rivals home in three starts this season. Well handicapped as a result but others hold stronger claims.
Some fair efforts this term including when fifth over an extended 5f at Bath (good-to-firm) last time out. Vulnerable to younger rivals.
Ten race maiden and held sixth on seasonal debut over 6f on good-to-firm ground here last time out. Probably best watched at present.
Finished a close fourth over 5f at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Without a win in 41 career starts however and likely to find at least one too good once more.
Winner of a claiming race over this trip at Beverley (good-to-firm) in September 2016. Disappointing in the main since and others make more appeal.
Winner of three races in his youth but most recent victory came back in August 2012. Struggled in two starts this term.
Failed to figure in three maiden races and it was a similar story on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time. Cheekpieces worn that day are retained.
Forecasts
Star Cracker (7/4), Brendan (5/1), Archimedes (6/1), Perfect Words (7/1), Pavers Pride (8/1), Dawoodi (12/1), Celerity (14/1), Secret Asset (20/1), Newgate Sioux (25/1), Redeeming (33/1), On The High Tops (100/1)
STAR CRACKER ran well to finish runner-up here earlier this season and he is taken to register a fifth career success in this sprint handicap. Perfect Words is well handicapped on his old form and having put in a couple of fair efforts so far this season he can claim second while longstanding maiden Celerity who ran well to finish fourth last time out can finish third.
- Star Cracker
- Perfect Words
- Celerity
