Not won since debut success back in 2016 at Nottingham (5f, good) but credible efforts in Pattern company that year and showed ability remains intact with efforts at Meydan this spring. One to pay attention to in betting.
Sir Percy colt went close in decent AW handicap at Lingfield in February but hasn't repeated that form in his runs since and now just 2-25 all told. Easier to look elsewhere.
Better effort (runner-up) at Nottingham on second start for this yard over an extended-mile, soft, last month. May not excel on firmer ground.
Won four times in early 2017, returned to that sort of form at Chester last month but was found to be lame following a poor show at Goodwood next time. Capable of bouncing back.
C&D winner in 2016 but losing run since stands at 13 and was woefully out of form when last spotted in the autumn, watching brief seems safest on return with new blinkers added.
Has three wins in a dozen career starts, latest at Leicester (7f, good to soft) in September. Held in three starts since (two this season) and hard to make a case for again.
Won a handicap over C&D last month with a career-best effort. That was on soft going but will handle the forecast conditions today and must enter calculations.
Ended last year with a Newmarket win over 1m and has gone well in three starts this term, latest when second at Chelmsford on the AW over 1m earlier in the week. Claims from the same mark of three-day turnaround doesn't catch him out.
Raven's Pass colt stepped up on reappearance when second of four in handicap at Newmarket (1m, good) last month, perhaps didn't enjoy much luck since at Doncaster. Former C&D winner, on a decent mark back here.
Consistent performer, scored for fourth time when landing Yarmouth handicap (7f, soft) last month and narrowly denied from 4lb higher there over a mile on good to firm since. Up another 3lb this time, should be in there pitching.
Has been going well on the AW circuit this year, with two wins from five starts including over 1m at Chelmsford in March. No turf win since 2014 however.
Forecasts
Chiefofchiefs (7/2), Via Serendipity (4/1), Salt Whistle Bay (6/1), Silver Line (13/2), Almoreb (13/2), Zwayyan (7/1), Graphite Storm (14/1), Gossiping (16/1), Manson (20/1), Mr Scaramanga (50/1), Lacan (50/1)
ALMOREB didn't get much luck in running last time at Doncaster and the former C&D winner appeals as being on a decent mark back here given that effort. He should mount a bold bid. Via Serendipity has been consistent this season and is respected again despite a sharp turnaround while last-time-out C&D winner Chiefofchiefs will handle the firmer ground and must be on the shortlist. Salt Whistle Bay deserves to be on any shortlist, while money behind Silver Line would be noted.
- Almoreb
- Chiefofchiefs
- Salt Whistle Bay
