Well beaten in two beginners chases recently but first-time cheekpieces on handicap debut could make for improvement here.
Poor form in his most recent chase starts and now races 3lb lower than original handicap mark. Plenty to prove but yard usually go well at this meeting.
Course winner that has also won over the trip and winner of four of his 52 chase starts but now races 11lb lower than last winning mark. Difficult to make a case for in current form.
Popular veteran who can still mix it given his last two starts at Down Royal and Wexford recently. Acts on the ground and one for the shortlist.
Tough and game sort who appears a better chaser than hurdler. Not easily dismissed now back over the larger obstacles given his efforts at Tramore and Killarney recently.
Four-race chase maiden who has recently been seen in a couple of point-to-point contests. Tough ask and others preferred.
Without a win in five chase starts but has been showing plenty of promise over hurdles recently. Entitled to make the shortlist if transferring form to the larger obstacles.
Without a win in four career chase starts failing to finish in her last two starts and hard to place any faith in here.
Little of any note on return to the track following a long lay-off when finishing last of six in a Down Royal novice chase last month. Hard to fancy on latest evidence.
Has disappointed connections in a number of dispiriting displays in handicap chases since December. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.
Not won in 27 starts under Rules and hard to fancy on evidence of comeback run when finishing sixth of nine well held in a Wexford handicap chase earlier this month.
Forecasts
Fairymount Boy (11/8), Swift (11/2), Peacocks Secret (7/1), Honest Robber (7/1), Ballyfinboy (10/1), Soul Kaliber (12/1), Glacial Shadow (20/1), Caoimhe Diva (25/1), Think Of Me (25/1), Admiral Bob (33/1), Nevada Rose (50/1)
SOUL KALIBER can land this handicap chase for the Gordon Elliott yard who usually go well at this meeting The eight-year-old has had a torrid time of things this year but races off a mark he can be competitive from here in this company. Fairymount Boy and Peacocks Secret have a couple of negatives against them but look the best of the rest in a race that won't take a great deal of winning. The gallant veteran Honest Robber is worthy of consideration as is Swift who can go well at a price.
- Soul Kaliber
- Peacocks Secret
- Honest Robber
