A winner at Sedgefield over hurdles in December and not disgraced when last seen in that sphere in May. Each-way claims on Flat debut.

40/1
Has been well beaten in two Flat starts for this yard including when fifteenth of 16 at Windsor last time out. Step up in trip will help but others look more likely winners.

Horse silk
100/1
Barely beaten a rival home in two tailed off starts at Chepstow and may do better when handicapping. Steps up in trip.

11/10
Looks a little unlucky to still be a maiden and only just touched off at Catterick when last seen. Likely to be hard to beat and sets a solid standard on form.

10/1
Has shown promise in both starts in maidens, particularly last time when returning from a lengthy absence. Should improve for the step up in trip and he's worth considering.

Horse silk
4/1
Improved from debut when fourth of 14 at Chepstow. Yard could hardly be in better form at present and no surprise to see him make his present felt here.

Horse silk
25/1
Well beaten at Bath on debut. Steps up in trip but looks like more of a long term prospect and yard have stronger claims with Saroog.

Surya28
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-10| J: R Havlin| T: J & T Gosden
2/1
Only made his debut in April but has run with promise on both starts. Not ruled out stepping up in trip but may do better when handicapping.

Forecasts

Saroog (11/10), Surya (2/1), Beer With The Boys (4/1), Smashed (10/1), Contented (20/1), Point Of Honour (25/1), Forbidding (40/1), Saintmont (100/1)

Verdict

SAROOG is hard to oppose in the finale on the card and is unlucky not to have a win next to his name already after four placed efforts in five starts. Contented is an interesting recruit to the Flat and brings a fair level of hurdles form to the table while better can be expected from Smashed on just his third start and he's likely to come on for his run last time out.
  1. Saroog
  2. Contented
  3. Smashed
