Improved on first run of the season when finishing fourth of nine beaten over 4L in a Navan handicap last month. Entitled to make the shortlist now just 2lb higher than last winning mark.

Disappointing over hurdles recently and still one win from eight Flat turf starts but worth a check in the market with yard among the winners recently.

Space Shipt13

Has tended to be better over hurdles, returned from two-year absence and failed to beat a rival home on debut for this yard over 1m4f at Leopardstown before finishing last of seven at Navan earlier this month. Others preferred.

Popular 76-rated seasoned handicapper for Mark Johnston and makes his stable debut here 18lb lower than last winning mark. Worth a market check.

Only one win in 18 starts over hurdles, but ran a decent race when second of nine at Hexham before finishing third of 11 at Uttoxeter when last seen in October. Best watched on first start on the Flat since 2015.

Distance winner who has visited the winners enclosure on three of his last six starts since June last year. Likely to run well once again.

Blew the start when carrying a 7lb penalty for a Killarney handicap win last month, eventually finishing well behind the likable 7L winner Waterboy at Leopardstown. Better than that run and can't be completely ruled out.

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-12| J: Rory Cleary| T: L Comer| OR:  63

Dual winner on turf but struggled on seasonal debut at Leopardstown last month before a promising forth of 11 beaten 7L behind Spiral Galaxy at Navan earlier this month. Place claims at best.

Scoil Naisiuntap13
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: K J Manning| T: J S Bolger| OR:  75
7/2
Part of the rejuvenation of the yard recently when winning a Navan handicap over 1m earlier this month. Can go well again off a 6lb higher mark but step up in trip a slight worry.

Smiling Eliza9
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-4| J: Wayne Lordan| T: G Elliott| OR:  68
4/1
Got the change of luck she so richly deserved in a Navan handicap earlier this month beating Baba Boom ½L following promising starts on the AW at Dundalk and at Gowran Park last month. Has the form to make a bold bid.

Forecasts

Lucca (2/1), Scoil Naisiunta (7/2), Smiling Eliza (4/1), Total Demolition (8/1), Harebell (10/1), Bay of St Malo (10/1), The Mouse Doctor (14/1), Sennockian Star (16/1), Mash Potato (25/1), Space Ship (33/1)

Verdict

With the Jim Bolger yard in such fine form of late it would be folly to dismiss the chances of SCOIL NAISIUNTA a winner earlier this month at Navan over 1m. The step back up in trip is a slight concern but the Intense Focus filly may have too much for the opposition here. Last time out winner Smiling Eliza is a solid and consistent sort and can be expected to hit the frame at the very least while Sennockian Star on his 105th start can grab a place on debut for new connections.
