Just the two Flat runs so far (poor in bumpers), finished third of 11 in maiden at Redcar (1m2f, good) 15 days ago and must improve on that.
Failed to beat a rival home in pair of 2016 maidens at Pontefract and Nottingham for Declan Carroll, off since. Major ask returned from long layoff.
Winner at Salisbury (1m, heavy) in October on second start, doing well have been keen early on. Mayson colt should have further improvement to come this season for Roger Varian.
Dubawi colt who cost 140,000 gns as a yearling and whose dam is closely related to a Grade 1 winner in the US. Won eight-runner Salisbury event over similar trip last month, needs considering.
125,000 gns yearling, Intello gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 7f Culturati. Newcomer of note for Ed Dunlop.
Half-brother to several winners and makes some appeal on pedigree but didn't look the finished article in either turf start. Would require some market confidence before taking an interest in New Approach colt.
Dabirism colt, cost €70,000 as a Breeze-Up purchase. Half-brother to four winners and dam a Listed winner. Ran a big race on debut, travelling well before finding less than what looked likely at Ascot (7f, soft) nine months ago. Can improve.
Dansili colt, ran well over a mile here last month (second) and looks a likely improver upped in distance. Booking of Moore a plus.
Cape Cross colt, cost €90,000 as a foal and 85,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to three winners, shaped with promise in two starts at Newmarket and Newcastle, though more called for.
Just the two outings, didn't shape badly in fourth of 16 at Windsor (1m2f, good to firm) last time. Has to build on that effort to get in firing line.
Street Cry filly is a half-sister to 1m4f winner Good Judge and two-year-old 6f winner Town Charter. Notable newcomer in the Godolphin blue.
Forecasts
Drill (2/1), Dive For Gold (2/1), Ace Ventura (3/1), Court Of Justice (9/2), Parting Clouds (14/1), El Ghazwani (25/1), Nautical Mile (50/1), Alhram (66/1), Helioblu Bareliere (66/1), Colenso (100/1), Jumbo Vee (100/1)
DRILL stayed on to take second over a mile here last month and may be up to opening the account now tackling this trip with Ryan Moore's assistance in the saddle. Salisbury winner Dive For Gold is another going the right way and is very much on the shortlisted. Off breaks, Ace Ventura and Court Of Justice are to be monitored while newcomers Alhram and Parting Clouds look to have potential on paper.
