Probably given a little too much to do last time at Ascot so fared well in the circumstances. Runs off same mark under same apprentice and could well get involved if ridden more positively this time.
Won twice last season for David Lanigan but hasn't done well in two starts over hurdles since joining current yard. Will be glad to be back on the level on second start after wind surgery but others make more appeal.
Prolific winner having scored 12 times to date, most recently on AW at Lingfield in March off today's mark. Stopped quickly last time after seemingly going well but a return to form not out of the question by any means.
Decent dual-purpose horse who won on the Flat at Kempton in February over 1m3f. Didn't get going until too late at Chester last time but showed he remains in form. Has never won off mark as high as this (93) to date.
Won twice last season and was very consistent, best effort coming when close third in valuable Melrose Handicap at York last August over 1m6f. Drop back in trip possibly not ideal on first start for eight months off 4lb higher mark.
Very consistent last season at up to 1m2f and ran as if the outing would do him good when unplaced at Newmakret (1m1f) a month ago. Dropped 1lb and tries a longer trip so well worth considering.
Lightly raced Kendargent gelding, has won two of his five starts on AW. Makes turf debut here and it will be interesting to see if that brings about any further improvement.
Progressed really well last summer hitting a winning streak of four out of five, including once over C&D. Signs of running into form at Ascot latest when given a very patient ride and comes into the reckoning off bottom weight.
Forecasts
Here And Now (3/1), Twin Star (9/2), Another Eclipse (5/1), Cosmeapolitan (5/1), C'Est No Mour (6/1), Fire Fighting (7/1), Shanghai Silver (10/1), Kasperenko (40/1)
This is a cracking handicap in which all eight runners have claims. ANOTHER ECLIPSE is a tentative choice in the hope that the step up in trip will bring about further improvement. If ridden with a little more purpose thatn last time top weight Twin Star will be a big danger, a comment that applies equally to the bottom weight C'Est No Mour. Old Fire Fighting is likely to give it a bold shout from the front, while Here And Now is respected, and turf debutant Shanghai Silver is another who may not be far away.
- Another Eclipse
- Twin Star
- Shanghai Silver
