Cost €180,000 as a yearling and hasn't achieved a great deal in two starts so far (Newmarket and Leicester) but should do better at some stage so not dismissed.

Society Rock colt who cost £35,000 and is from the family of good sprinters Ratio and Hoof It; much more to like about his second start at Catterick last week (5f good) and set a similar task again here.

80,000 gns juvenile by Showcasing out of a sprint maiden dam (Copy-Cat). Half-brother to eight winners including Pastoral Player (6f-7f) and Chil The Kite (7f-1m); market helpful.

13/2
Unraced seventh foal by Pastoral Pursuits out of a 7f AW winning dam (Reeling N' Rocking). Cost just 8,500 gns as a foal and looks ideally suited by further in time, but always wise to respect the juveniles from this stable.

7/1
Cost £20,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to the 5f-6f winner Melonade, so fits the bill as a precocious type; should be wiser/stronger for the initial racecourse experience at Hamilton last week.

16/1
Unraced first foal by Morpheus out of a 7f/1m winning dam (Idyllic Star), so this trip would appear to be very much on the sharp side and the stable have stronger claims with the more experienced Capitan James.

Forecasts

Ballistic (11/8), Capitan James (11/4), Hard Solution (6/1), Roderick (13/2), Woodside Wonder (7/1), Magical Duchess (16/1)

Verdict

Not the deepest of juvenile contests, but a number of the runners can be considered including Capitan James who showed a marked improvement on his debut effort when finishing a close up fourth at Catterick last week, but we'll take a chance at more significant odds with WOODSIDE WONDER who showed the required speed on debut at Hamilton nine days ago before weakening. He should be wiser/stronger for that initial experience and be suited by this sharp 5f trip.
  1. Woodside Wonder
  2. Capitan James
  3. Roderick
