Angel Gabrial is more than capable of putting these rivals well and truly in their place on his Northumberland Plate winning form of 2014, but many a moon has passed since with even the hallowed Gosforth Park turf long consigned to racing history. However, there's no denying that from an alluring mark he's a major player at this level. On Fire always runs his usual solid race and is also considered, but the pick is the 2017 winner GREAT FIGHTER who appears to have been trained perfectly for this early/mid season target by the ever reliable Jim Goldie and has the added bonus of a useful 5lb claimer in the saddle.
