Looked an improved performer switched to handicaps last time for his debut in that sphere although his mark looks a rather stiff one. A drop back into this company might allow him to break his maiden dropping back to 7f.

Started favourite on his return from a long break a position that didn't look deserved on his debut form and he finished well held. Now given another chance over 7f but has something to find on what he's shown so far.

€470,000 yearling by Lawman who is blinkered for his debut for a stable who have a good record here. Half-brother to a useful winner at up to 1m Drumfad Bay and should be watched in the market for positive signals.

Placed on a few of his starts as a juvenile he ran just a respectable race on his return although he hardly looked that keen in the finish. Blinkers worn for the last three starts are retained; may require some finesse to see him home.
Given a couple of starts last year at up to 6f he's so far only raced in soft conditions and looked to need the experience in both starts. Now gelded he may do better given some time and a try over this 7f.
Had just the one start so far but was held back by inexperience over 1m at Brighton; did his best work at the finish. Given that run this trip may be a little too sharp with a few having more experience and know how.

Two starts last year the second coming in a 7f Redcar seller where she showed very little and would need to make vast improvement to figure in this.

Forecasts

Alrahaal (11/8), The Night Porter (5/2), Rampant Lion (5/1), Jathi (8/1), Burford Brown (14/1), Mr Gent (14/1), Tweeting (66/1)

Verdict

The strongest and most respectable form has been posted by Alrahaal and the return to 7f is likely to suit him and this gives him a good shot at breaking his maiden. Rampant Lion is expected to do better over this trip and now that he’s been gelded with The Gent another who can take a hand although his finishing effort leaves a little to be desired. Simon Crisford does well with his runners here though and his JATHI makes some appeal on debut with his half-sister also having won on her debut and the blinkers might just sharpen him up on debut.
  1. Jathi
  2. Alrahaal
  3. Rampant Lion
